I thought I would jot a quick blog, I have been playing Christmas a have neglected my computer for a while! I thought I would share some of the fun things I had waiting for me in my email this morning. The first is Friday Focus with Carrie and Danielle these are 2 style gurus that I love. They have a terrific business helping you discover your natural and instinctive style. They created a page with a Lifestyle Map. This is a page that gives you some structure to evaluate where you might like to head this year, discover what worked last year and maybe what didn't. Here is an excerpt from their email THIS NEW YEAR: Create your ideal year based on the Lifestyle Map. On large paper, or using one page per heading, create sections for “HOME + STUFF,” “SPIRIT + LEARNING,” etc. Write out your wish list for 2008: Diving in Mexico. New sofa. More dinners with friends. Dance class. Firm up butt. Clean out storage locker. Get certified. Resolve things with Mom. $2 million in sales. Publish an article. Pay off loan. Run the 10k. Adopt a puppy…. Put it all down. Now, here’s the very important thing: Within each category, be sure to also include how you want to feel. This is key! So many of our goals include “stuff and experiences” and we miss the fundamentals of our desires: our feelings. This year, in terms of WEALTH + SERVICE, do you want to feel more ingenious, impeccable, generous, free? In terms of BODY + WELLNESS, do you want lightness, strength, energy? With RELATIONSHIPS + COMMUNICATION, how about feeling sexy, supported, cherished, or funfreakintastic?!
I am thrilled that they are coming out with a book in April. If you are at your desk at work and really don't want to work (OMI!!) go to to the home page of their site and download a small pdf with a preview of people that they profiled as they discovered their style. This was really fun and I am got completely absorbed in seeing profiles of people that were "ORGANIC TREASURE" and " ENDURING BOLD." I think mapping and setting your mind and spirit on want you want, need and hope for is so valuable. It often can help you discover things about yourself that you may have had hidden away. As you are doing exercises like this you may hear a still small voice inside you that says "I need to explore this." Or " I want to get rid of this strife in my life." or "I am not going to beat myself up about this anymore." These small ah-ha moments can unlock HUGE obstacles in your life and it all starts out with a little self indulgent fun!
