Over the holiday weekend I created these book plates for my family of avid readers, as a cute and (easy to mail) Christmas gift. I got the idea from Real Simple magazine' s 50 gift ideas column. The bookplates that they listed were $25 for 40 of them. As yes, they were lovey....but that was not my art work!! Can't have that for my family! So I created my own using large label sheets. I was torn on whether to print my mother's and sister's name on them. I am going to 2 parties this week where I am bringing some goodies to sell and so I decided I would leave these blank in case I decided to sell these and then I can create more personalized ones for my family. Aren't book plates a good idea? I created some that were for home decorating books, sometimes I lend these out and want them back! I thought they would be great for cookbooks and the cute dog and purse are for romance books. And lastly, some children's bookplates for all the wonderful children's book that will be in the family for years to come. I think may sound like a Martha Stewart segment! But I come from a family of book lovers so I know they will like these!
