ha! pieces of me...do I sound like a pop song? I finally called truce with my camera and took pictures of my map. Thanks goodness Tine suggested we put up pieces of our maps because as I was realizing how personal my map has become. I also maybe realized that I am a bit shy about these dreams and goals. That leads to the question-is that a good thing or a bad thing? I have maintained that writing these things down puts them in your head, drops them into your heart, and then they begin to happen. So what happens when you start telling others, "This is what I want...and it is
big and
daring...and please don't roll your eyes at me or discourage me or..." See how easy it can be to fall off course? Maybe because these dreams have not completely dropped in my heart yet.
The funny things is this is an"in-addition-to" dream. I am very happy illustrating, this map helps define the type of illustrating, designing that I would like to explore. And it is rather
Big Fish but I think that is a good thing, there is a time for mapping small and there is a time for mapping BIG!
Still exploring the ideas and dreams in your head? Here is a great excerpt from 2 stylists that help you discover your personal style,
Carrie and Danielle
THIS WEEK: think about what you’re great at. Make a list and make it long. Nothing is too trivial, grand or abstract…home renos, buying art, collecting recipes, non-judgmental listening, finding romance, raising loving kids, negotiating big purchases; baking, making money, knowing lot’s of people, reading amazing books; copy editing or closet organizing; giving terrific parties, neck rubs, or spiritual perspective.
They go on to suggest that you take one of these things on your list and give it away via a donation, thoughtful email, offer to help someone etc. Then rejoice in the ease that comes from doing sometimes that your are good at!
