Did I mention that I was re-doing my office-studio? Oh, I might have mentioned that our bathroom is being redone. Well, I decided to redo my office at the same time. oops! I think I just had a need to feel like I was working hard on a house project because Tom was working so hard-and the bath (it is really coming along!) Can't wait for my first tubbie in the new tub! In the meantime I began obsessing on how to better utilize the storage problem that every artist has if they are a book and magazine addict. I took all my books off of one of my bookshleves to move it and could not believe that the books covered my 7 foot dining table about a foot deep! AND that was just books, not magazines. I have sooo many childrens books that can be akward to shelf since that are so tall and deep. I went to IKEA and started planning and planning and measuring and measuring...then I just asked someone for help. And guess what?! They are super helpful there! I had all my problems sloved in about 10 minutes. I did build this enclosed bookshelf with Connor (my stepson) we were so proud of oursleves!! The I moved my first bookshelf out into my hallway. I think all the books were cluttering my mind and they needed to be hidden or out of the room. Next up is a large-long-wide enough desk! I wanted and adjustable height and I needed it deep enough for my computer, wacom tablet-mine is huge- and still have space for painting, scanning, printing! Good Luck. I went over to the kitchen department at IKEA and asked "What is the largest butcher block counter you sell?" 73 x 39- I AM SOLD!!! Then on to to 5 steel legs and I think we may have a winner. I haven't picked that up yet-I needed to measure my car to make sure it fits-oh and also measure my angled doorway (after all the couch came through the window). AND I might just need the bathroom handyman's help! So I decided to tone down my zeal for a week or so. Did I mention tomorrow is our 4 year anniversary-my poor Tommy stayed up late to get my vanity and sink in so we (he) could actually go out and enjoy ourselves for the evening and not have to come home and brush our teeth in the kitchen sink..after we peed at the neighbors house...hehehee. So all is moving forward one MORE thing I think I am going to get my office couch recovered, the red plaid is too busy too. Enough already Monica!
