I had a fun "girl" get together last Friday night. Cocktails on my deck-all sorts of girls came that had never met and they got to mingle. A lot of them exchanged business cards,it was sort of a ladies entrepreneur night. I think it was really nice time and I simply cannot believe that I did not take any pictures. I guess I was too busy pouring the wine and making sure the yummy snacks didn't run out! I roasted garlic, made
burschetta, I had marscapone cheese with peach preserves for dipping fresh veggies in. There was smoked Gouda and a yummy Mexican salad that I make religiously for parties now. All this food sounds so good, I haven't had breakfast yet! Oh and for those of you that haven't tired
Jicama or heard of Jicama-pick one up at your grocer, peel it, slice it into strips and marinate it in a bit if oil and lime juice and it can be used for dipping or eating. It is great in salsas and salads. My New England friends had never had it so I will pass a it on to you also. Since I cannot have bread ( it is a gluten thing) with my burschetta I had a bunch of endive for that and the Mexican salad it was a great alternative. Easy and fun, have your friends over for cocktails on your deck this weekend! If you have it, they will come....!
