I returned from the National Stationery show in NYC last week and I had a great time. My girlfriends Marybeth Cryan and Laura Fry went with me. We all design for the stationery industry as well as other freelancing so we thought it was a good excuse to go to the city. Of course they were much more organized than I was and made appointments with clients. Me, I made dinner reservations at Balthazar! Ce la vi! We just had a great time and we also dined on Rockefeller plaza in front of the gold statue and fountain.

I know I should be talking about what I saw at the stationery show BUT when we went by Tiffany's, Sujean Rim's illustrations where in the window. Love her! Of course, I paint girls too so it is a natural affection that I have for any other illustrator that works with a very female genre. Did you know Tiffany's serves champagne to couple picking out rings? Maybe Marybeth and I should have pretended to be a couple. She found a ring she loved and she is in love so it was fun. The whole trip was go great. I have been shopping with my son so long I forgot how nice it was to shop with girls! Anyway here is a little illo of a girl ready for an outside date on the plaza.
