I made my way back home from Texas. I had a desk full of work waiting for me. It may sound like a bummer but I am so blessed to have this work. I love, love love, freelancing! My blogging friend Kristen Fischer has just completed a book titled
Creatively Self Employed, she interviewed artists and entrepreneurs (including yours truly!)
I did manage to bruise a couple ribs (say a prayer for me because this is a bummer!) I was bringing my new office chair into the house-up the back steps- and jammed it into my chest. Klutzy as it sounds, this is a big chair! My family calls it my “Capt. Kirk Chair”. So whatever you do-don’t make me laugh-it is sooo painful!
I wanted to share with you a cute blog I found, can’t remember whether I highlighted this or not. It is Kim Hendricks,
Olive Juice and Co. Take at look at her darling custom aprons and encourage her to make more!!!
Speaking of which, I hope I am not overloading myself but in June I have decided to have a Pretty Things Tag Sale. I have so much stuff I have meant to sell on EBay but haven’t gotten around to yet, I also want to see the person who buys the stuff because I have cute vintage stuff that just doe not work in my home. I also have a lot of artist friends who create great stuff and I wanted to give them and opportunity to sell some of their goods. I was thinking about opening it up to my blogger friends but I am not sure I am organized enough to handle it. If you have nay ideas or input let me know. I got the idea from
The Farm Chicks, have you heard about them? They had a big barn sale one year and now it is a super fun yearly event with food and live music and all sorts of artisans. I would like to make this a fun annual event that you bring your girlfriends and sisters and moms to! I also hope to raise some money for a favorite local charity,
Rosie’s Place. If you are a JJill shopeer you may have heard of this homeless shelter for women that also has a craft coop for women to gets some skills to take into the work place.
Yikes! Just typing this makes me feel like I am biting off a lot. I am also hoping to enlist some help from some enthusiastic girlfriends to get this running.
Lastly about the shoe, on the way home from a Dr. appt. (I thought I had been suffering from heartburn for weeks and found out I bruised my ribs) I stopped and a talented fun friend of mine
Barbara Johansen Newman's house and she high jacked me, wrestled me down and forced me (against my will) to purchase shoes, more shoes that I didn’t need. Really funky cute shoes that I didn’t need!
