Ok, I need input, bloggers. On a whim I decided to try to knit this tunic before the middle of Sept. I am going to Vegas with Tom. Just a week ago I didn't think I would be well enough to go so as a proof to myself that I am up and running I picked this pattern out.
I bought some bright turquoise yarn and began to knit on a size 8 needle. It is going pretty slow and now I am doubting whether I want to bite this project off. I was planning on making it shorter than the picture and I am planning on wearing pants. ha-ha. I won't look quite like this model (too bad, huh?) But I do know that the desert gets chilly at night but will I realistically get it done in a month? As I ponder over this project, I come to at least one conclusion I am going to put a book proposal together "Hip Knits for the Lazy Knitter". I am single minded about finding project without buttons, cables, stripes. I rib, increase and decrease and occasionally ruffle, that's it. I may learn more but if it requires any more than a few moments of concentration-forget it. It is actually hard to find simple cool projects, I am a book buyer myself and I feel like there is not anything out there for hip lazy people like me. I already have about 6 projects in mind for my lazy book. I am not sure anything made on small needled would go in it. I think I will pester Kristen and Rachel and Sara to help me with my lazy plans...see what a lazy knitter I am, is this a perfect book for me or WHAT!?
PS Remember how I was agonizing that I was too ill to fly to London and Paris this summer? Now with today's news I am glad I am not heastuck in Europe. Sigh. Spooked and grateful to God at the sametime.
