So this is another fun new piece, tell me what you think. Because it’s going into my portfolio! Ha! I ran across a quote…”Start even when starting is inconvenient.”
Care and Feeding of Your Dream:
Step 1: Ask yourself honestly if you are talking yourself out of your own dream. This is what I have talked about for sometime and it is one of the toughest habits to master. It is the whole “As a man thinks in his heart so is he” thing. I have had to revisit this step many times, whenever I am feeling low it is always good to go back and get quite and listen to myself to make sure my thinking and God’s plan for me are same! (PS I know He has good things for me!) Assuming you are mastering that:
Step 2: “Start even when starting is inconvenient.” You DO need to start somewhere and I really liked this part…”You’ll never know if you are going in the right direction until you take a step. “ Don’t get to wrapped up in whether it is exactly the right step at the right time. One step might lead you to something you never knew was possible. Just start! I was illustrating for children and I knew I wanted to write children’s books also. But writing always took a backseat, it seemed to me that the time involved in illustrating was consuming enough. I needed to get beyond my own limited “there’s not enough time” thinking. I needed to exercise this creative muscle. Along came my blog. For me, it was an opportunity to commit some time to writing “something” every couple days. It elevated my comfort zone with writing. As a result, it has helped me discover some NEW thing about this particular passion of mine. Is there a dream that you have been wanting to begin, something you have been wanting to take more seriously? Just start! Even if it is so small , even if is for 20 minutes (ok, let's say 30 miutes) a day.
You may get going on something like "writing", "manufacturing", "selling" and it may lead you into something else you are good at! You will never know until you begin.
