Here is my version of Speed! I do feel focused this week, I spent some time clicking around on the Children's Illustration Blog Ring and I really enjoyed some of the work the illustrators are doing. I found a series from Holi Conger on becoming an illustrator, it chronicles her transition from working full time to freelance. It was a nice kick start to my day. There are so many good things deep within some of these websites. Tom is making me (motivating?) to reorganize my own website this month. I do have new interviews with artists to post. That will be fun! I decided to attend the New England SCWBI conference (April 29) and enter my portfolio in the portfolio exhibit. Which means I have to get my @#$art%!* together. So much of my work is sitting on my computer and has not been printed, or I have gone back in and manipulated it digitally. This will be good for me. I also have not laid out my children's portfolio in quite sometime. It will force me to get rid of old pieces. I have quite a bit of commissioned work that is not published yet (bummer) so I don't believe I can use them as promo pieces. I would dig out the contracts and check on this but that sounds like a lot of work and I will use common sense. Plus there are only so many hours in a day! So I am going to create a least 2 new pieces for my portfolio also. I will keep you posted!
