So, I have been trying to load these images onto blogger (which once again, I am completely OVER!) for 2 days. I loved everyone's comments. They were thoughtful and insightful. My friend Tine wrote the most encouraging email and suggested that I try one image several ways. I have been doing just that. She also suggested that maybe I have been playing it a bit "safe" creating work that is geared toward publishers. That struck home with me and it does pose and interesting challenge. I am a commerical artist, yes, and have never been completely an "art for art's sake" girl. I am a "art to make someone smile, think, feel girl." Maybe that is that same thing. Telling stories with my images suits me, but I do think I like it is time to experiment even if it is with medium.
Here is a piece I did combining patterns and digital media... I may try it with watercolor just to see what I like the best....Thanks again for all the comments and support, it is good to get feedback!
