Just back from Paris with YARN! Had plans to go to La Droguerie but it was closed I went with me to Anny Blatt instead. ( I drug a flight attendant along with me, she could not believe I found it, I was a little impressed with myself also) I was slightly relieved not to go to La Droguerie because I had read thru a lot of knitters blogs that at La Droguerie they are the friendliest to non French speakers. I will make it there one day though simply because I am determined. At Anny Blatt they have a website in English and French so I figured they were used to tourists. The shop manager was lovely and the neighborhood was really cute. We arrived late because we had stoped at every single shoe store on the way to look at shoes (my feet must have been sore) But the manager helped me pick yarn out for 2 sweaters, a scarf and a baby hat. I was so excited when I got back to the hotel at 11pm I had to dig out my needles and give the chunky yarn a try. On the Saturday before I left my husband and step son and I went to a bookstore and sat down with piles of books. Tom, fortunately, is an avid reader and encourages this behavior. (he had started his own blog...everyone in this household has a creative need for expression!) He actually posted his Most Prized possessions also. Anyway, I had art books, a novel and a knitting book in front of me and couldn't get over thinking that there is simply not enough time to do everything you love. I don't even understand people who get bored! I could spend any day knitting, reading recipes, just reading and of course, creating art in my studio! Life is good and I feel so blessed to see it in the simple daily activities. I really think this is a huge message I want to impart to my boys. After I watch all the cute little boys at baseball camp this week I am going to take Luke to children's bookstore and then maybe for ice cream. What a great way to spend a summer day! Honestly, life doesn't get much better than this!
