I attended the SCBWI conference in NYC this weekend. It was packed full of great information. Again, I recommend this organization to any illustrator that is interested in the childrens illus. market. They had a juried art exhibit and 3 people from my monthly illustration group were in the top 10! Out of 250 artists that is great! This is what I entered...this is only part of it-there is a large border with postcards and other travel items around it. Showing your art to other artists is, as Tomi De Palo put it "like standing naked in front of people". But this year, I was proud of my work and my quirky style. I will write more about the conference and pass on nuggets of info I recieved but the puppy is sleeping right now and I must get busy with other things-stay tuned. it was very motivating!
