I am visiting my parents and grandmother in Federicksburg, TX. It is a darling town.Tom and I had my mom teach us a few new knitting techniques that lead us to the local yarn shop, where we managed to drop $65 in yarn. It is a new addiction and I think all the ladies love that my handsome, motorcycle riding husband has learned to knit. We must have spent an hour touching every yarn and putting it back and laughing. My father finally gave up and went to the grocery store to buy a turkey. We are having an early Thanksgiving this weekend. It feels like a holiday, there is a big plate of homemade cookies with pecans from my parents tree in the back yard. Mom made pecan and pumpkin pies. I am always amazed at what a talented woman she is- she knits, crochets, sews, quilts and is a fabulous cook. She always ran a tight household, we were a military family that moved every 3 years and she had it down to a science!!! I can't tell you how many times I called her this summer moaning about my move this summer, a move that was only 20 minutes away! Women never cease to amaze me, I think I enjoy the cozy "woman-ness" of knitting....hmmm so does my husband!
